Color: For our French Oak hardwood flooring, we only use oak from France due to its higher tannin content which reacts better in the aging process. The higher tannins give the wood its beautiful patina and treasured antique appearance. Each board has its own unique character and beauty.
Grain/Pore: French Oak has medium-to-large pores and a fairly coarse grain—somewhat tighter than European Oak. May have irregular or interlocked grain depending on growing conditions of the tree.
Benefits: As this is a strong, hard wood, it is particularly suited to finishing with minimal expansion or contraction. Highly prized for its distinct, weathered look, and rich in design and functionality, this is a floor that will bring warmth to any home for generations to come.
